How we work

Asset Building has systems in place to offer a one-stop-shop from conception to completion on any building project. We have a large and proven network of suppliers and subcontractors who we have carefully vetted over time to ensure their work practices reach our quality and value standards.

Our goal is for the client to focus on looking forward to a quality finish, a project completed both on time and on budget, and Asset Building will take care of the project from initiation through to handover whilst keeping you fully informed. Asset Building holds membership with the Master Builders Association and is a licensed Building Practitioner.

Flexibility is a hallmark of Asset Building and we understand that some builds require an unequivocal eye for detail and build standards that aren’t compromised by budget.

 Alternatively, we’ve helped many people create homes they love when budget is an important priority, and for whom fixed price contracts are vital.

No obligation meeting

Tell us your ideas, your vision and what you want your building project to look like. We will discuss your expectations, specifications and budget to ensure we tailor the project to match your needs.  

We’ll ask a lot of questions, walking you through the features and fixtures of each room, our comprehensive specifications, and ask about the fine details you might not have thought of yet. Our home building and renovating experience means we know how important the little details are to making sure you’re covered, while your project comes in on time and on budget.

Concept plans

Your dreams and ideas for how your new home will look are captured on paper to come up with a plan for your new home that matches your needs and maximises your site opportunities and your budget. If you already have architectural drawings or a working plan, we’ll prepare a quote for you to consider. 

If you don’t have drawings we can recommend an architect to design plans for you. Once everyone has agreed on the concept design and costs, we’ll draw up a contract with set start and finish dates. We take deadlines very seriously, and do everything we can to make sure your home will be finished on time.

Fixed price or estimate

Our transparent pricing/specifications means the costs are laid out for you to see exactly what you're getting. Depending on the building plans and your budget we can create a fixed-price contract for you to sign off. For more custom or architectural homes, we may have to work with your architect to prepare a concept to enable us to give a more accurate estimate or quote. 

We will send your plans and specs to all our key suppliers for pricing, collate all those inputs to arrive at a final investment figure and go through this quotation with you. As registered master builders we’ll put in place a detailed agreement to proceed once you are happy with everything.

Consenting process

There’s a lot of planning and paperwork that goes into building a home, but you don’t need to worry about any of it. We’ll produce the final plans and send them off to the relevant council for consent which saves you the hassle of arranging things with the council yourself.

Construction

Once the Council sends back the final consented documents, we’ll break ground on your new home. The building phase is the really exciting time as you see your plans turning from paper to reality. You’ll receive regular updates along the way, and reports at key stages during the building process. Taking pride in our work also means taking pride in your site. 

While it’s an active construction site we will keep the place clean and tidy if you want to come by for a visit. You’re free to give as much or as little input as you like during the build. 

Handover

Before you know it your home will be complete and ready for you to move in. We will complete a comprehensive walk through to show you how we have brought your house plans to life, arrange code of compliance from the local council and prepare a comprehensive warranty and guarantee folder for all aspects of your home. 

We want you to fall in love with your new home and see that everything is up to standard. 

Ongoing support

We recognise that happy customers are our most effective form of advertising. That’s why we spend a lot of time, right from day one, listening carefully to fully understand your needs and communicate every step of the way. 

Our commitment to you is on going. Once you’re settled in and enjoying your new home, we will continue to keep contact to ensure any issues that might arise are addressed. We will provide you with a comprehensive 10 year Master builders warranty.
